So today was another trip into Dublin City for a chatch up with one of my best friends.
I've known Barbara for nearly 15 years. Since I moved to Ireland.
I wanted to see her before I go away coz I know she's having a rough time.
So anywho I'm going away on Monday. I'm gone for a week. All over St Patricks week.
Here' the thing. If you are an Irish person living in Ireland the last place you want to b for St Patricks day is Ireland.
The reason? Streets paved with vomit and rubbish and drunken teenagers looking for a fight.
So we went into town so I could get some last minute bits for going away. Toothpaste, showegel the normal shit.
I went to the ATM and I had NO money. None. Infact I'm overdrawn by 11.98.
I was kinda pissed off but it occured to me then, how lucky I am.
Ok so I had a tenner in my pocket but I think about all the cash I wasted on crap.
Kung Fu Fighting Hamsters, Sining fish, teddy bears I have no use for.
So what if I have no money. I have more than the vast majority of the world.
I'm going to New York for feck sake.
Some people never get to go and I'm going twice this year.
So I'm gonna leae this on the following note:
Things you want are not always things you need.
And things you have are more than some could ever dream of.
